Ling-Ling is a beautiful, but cross-eyed Akita. Through a series of events she found herself homeless in Grand Prairie, Texas. We met the weekend of August 4 when I arrived at Prairie Paws to take her photograph. Each week we select a variety of animals, take their portraits, and hope that their inner dog shines through. Each week I return home to my Golden Retriever and my American Mutt to share the stories and smells that I have gained that morning. As I tell them how lucky they are to have a home I wonder what will happen to the shelter paws. Will they find a home? Will it be the right match for them? Will they be loved and cared for? I rarely learn the answer to those questions but here is one that I just had to share. It always feels good when the story turns out right.
This is the message I received from Prairie Paws:
This is an email we got about the picture that you took of Ling Ling! Your pictures do AMAZING things for these animals and we appreciate you so much!!!!

That picture of Ling Ling got her adopted almost before she went to boarding. I had people calling me to tell me this woman on FB was desperate to talk to me about her. So it looks like she is headed to FL (the woman is flying to Dallas and renting a car and driving her back to FL). She will live in a 4000 sq ft home on the ocean with another long coat Akita. I am working on the details and get her spayed. Thank you so much for taking that photo.
